Event Data & Editorial Standards
PinItLiveIt is an event discovery platform. This page explains how event information is discovered, processed, checked and maintained before and after it is made publicly discoverable.
1. Event discovery
Event information can originate from event providers, ticketing services, web discovery and other external sources. PinItLiveIt brings this information together so visitors can discover events across cities and destinations.
2. Data normalization
Incoming event information is normalized before it is stored. This can include cleaning text fields, standardizing event categories and applying canonical location names so that equivalent city identities are represented consistently.
For example, equivalent city variants may be consolidated, while distinct localities such as nearby cities or neighborhoods are preserved when they represent different geographic entities.
3. Event enrichment
PinItLiveIt can enrich event records with additional information discovered from external sources. Source-backed facts are stored separately from the core event record and can include the source URL, source name, confidence and verification timestamp.
4. Timing and date verification
Event timing can be checked against available sources. Where timing has been verified, event pages can distinguish verified or high-confidence timing from information that is less certain.
Event timestamps are interpreted using the event's available timezone information where possible.
5. Lifecycle and expired events
Event lifecycle information is maintained separately from publication status. Events can move between upcoming, active and past states as their dates change.
Public event discovery excludes events that no longer have a current eligible occurrence or valid future event date. Historical event records may remain stored for operational purposes without remaining part of the public upcoming-event catalogue.
6. Publication and visibility
Publication status determines whether an event is publicly exposed by PinItLiveIt. An unpublished event is not treated as a public event page and is not included in the public event discovery catalogue.
7. Corrections and outdated information
Event information can change after it has been published. If you find an event with incorrect, incomplete or outdated information, contact PinItLiveIt and include the event title and the information that appears incorrect.
Important ticketing, pricing, availability and cancellation details should also be confirmed with the relevant official organizer, venue or ticket provider before making a purchase or travel arrangement.
