A two-time MOBO Award winner for Best Jazz Act, she has performed at major jazz festivals, concert halls, and clubs across Europe, North America, Africa, Asia, and the Caribbean. Rooted in jazz while drawing naturally from soul and reggae, Brown's music combines strong melodies, rhythmic groove, and an instinctive approach to improvisation. As a bandleader and composer, she has established a distinctive voice that is contemporary while remaining firmly connected to the jazz tradition. Brown has performed with Jools Holland's Rhythm & Blues Orchestra, Diana Krall, The Temptations, Billy Ocean, Dave Stewart, and Bill Laurance of Snarky Puppy. Whether leading her own ensemble or appearing as a guest artist, she brings warmth, musicality, and an engaging stage presence to every performance. Yolanda is also a passionate advocate for music education.
